Our Publishing Model

Books are not launched once, they are developed over time. Curiosity Press builds each work in stages: first for reach, then for permanence.

We do not treat a book as a single product. Each work is developed over time; allowed to find its audience, evolve through real-world response, and ultimately take on a more permanent form.

This staged approach reduces risk, improves outcomes, and creates layered value for both the author and the reader.

Stage One — Reach

Every project begins by entering the market. The goal is visibility, accessibility, and early audience formation.

Stage Two — Validation

We assess how the book performs in real conditions; measuring reader response, sales behavior, and market alignment.

Stage Three — Permanence

Titles that demonstrate strong potential are developed into refined physical editions designed for longevity, collectibility, and higher-value distribution.

The Signature Edition is not produced at scale; it is crafted.

The Partnership Model

Curiosity Press operates as a co-investment publishing partner. Both author and publisher contribute resources, expertise, and capital to bring each project to market.

Phase 1 — Investment Recovery

50 / 50 revenue split until initial production costs are recovered.

Phase 2 — Profit Participation

60 / 40 split (author favored) once costs are recouped.

Phase 3 — Performance Scaling

Revenue participation increases as the work demonstrates market strength.

Why This Model Works

Traditional publishing often limits authors to 10–15% of revenue. Our model begins at 50% and increases over time, allowing authors to reach profitability sooner and participate meaningfully in long-term success.

By aligning incentives, both author and publisher are fully invested in the outcome of each project.

Who This Is For

If this model reflects how you think about your work, and where you want it to go, we invite you to take the next step.

Begin Your Submission

We review each submission carefully and respond to projects that align with our focus. If you do not hear from us, it generally means the work is not the right fit at this time.
